Blue & White Of That Time
Here's two pictures of the Tong family :) there's more, but these two is enough...
His promise.
Okay we know it's quite some time since the last post and such but we are back! More updates about God's work is here.
Cassandra's family went down to Singapore on the 21st of May 2010, which is a Friday. Their caring churchmates, Jeremiah and Gary drove them down to their destination. They arrived at about 6 in the morning and slept at the in-law's place. The husband, Anthony Tong and their first born, Kyna Tong, woke up at 7 a.m to go to the hospital which Cassandra was admitted. Her husband wanted to catch the doctor to learn about her condition.
When they got there, Cassandra was not panting like the last time they went, she was her usual self, smiling and encouraging people. She was like that through out the week, till 24th of May 2010, which fell on a Monday. Her younger sister bought a chocolate cake so rich that whoever ate it nearly got sore throat. One layer of dark chocolate followed by a layer of pecan nuts stuck with camarel to give it a sticky sweet texture and supported by another layer of chocolate spondge, topped with chocolate balls. You could imagine how big and heavy it is! When Cassandra saw this, her eyes lit up, she had always loved cake. They called a small group of churchmates and family to celebrate Cassandra's short-lived but faithful and beautiful live. She wasn't afraid of death, she told whoever had asked her. She is like Paul from the Bible who said that he wasn't afraid of dying, as "to die is gain."
She smiled for the last time that day.
On the 25th of May 2010, the next day, Cassandra's health went down hill. Her breathing bacame panting so the doctors decided to give her the oxygen mask. And of course, continued to give her morphine. She slept for quite some time and then at around 3 to 5 p.m she woke up and started yelling that the world is going to explode if the people there do not stop moving. She still knew the names of her family and friends that surrounded her. This happened due to the virus in her that was attacking her organs and she had lost control of her mind as well. The doctors gave her an injection to calm her down. That night, her husband, eldest daughter and her mother stayed at the hospital to be with her. She slept most of the night and only woke up once or twice.
The next morning, the Lord took Cassandra back at around 7.30a.m. She opened her eyes for a while and closed them then her breathing became slow and peaceful.
The Good Lord had shown His love to all. Everyone who knows her will remember her smile, and her faith. Cassandra Tong is deeply loved and missed by all.

A Miracle!
In the wee early hours of morning on the 10th of May,2010 a miracle took place. Cassandra, who was encountering difficulty in breathing, was saved the previous night. A miracle preformed by none other then the Mighty Lord God Almighty. She was amitted to hospital due to high fever on 6th of May, 2010 and difficulty in breathing.
The next day she still have difficulty in breathing, the doctors had decided to give her an oxygen mask to assist her in her breathing when she was hospitalised on the first day. The pecentage of oxygen was 100%, and she was panting heavily as if she just ran a marathon. She can not take in solid food, just porridge, or red bean soup or noodles cut into tiny pieces. Her condition wasn't bad as she can laugh and joke around when her friends came over to visit her.
Later on her condition worsen, and Pastor Edwin from Moulmein Church of Christ helped and did everything he could to get a private ward for Cassandra. She has to keep sipping water now and then because her throat keep drying up because of the consentrated oxygen. All this time since Thursday, the doctor keep telling the family members that she can't survive any longer and that her time is up and near "It can be any time from now" was what the doctor said.
On Sunday her condition was really bad and everyone including herself thought she was going to die any time soon. So she did say all her last words to everyone, and whoever was in the room was crying. Almost everyone who came to visit her prayed for her, reminding her of God's love and His Word. She, also told them that she was "at peace'' and that she is ready to leave. Eventhough she was in such a critical stage, she still made the people around her laugh and though she did say that she was at peace, she was also hopeful as she did mention "You wouldn't know, it might be another miracle!"
Monday morning came, and the outcome shocked the doctors to their nerves, even their phD did not damage their heads, [lame joke: phD Permanent Head Damage] because Cassandra's condition was improving rapidly. They moved her to a another ward with 2 Chinese ladies and a Malay lady... And by noon, she was back to her normal self, laughing and pulling legs.
